JOYCE J. STEFFEN, 95, of Huntertown, formerly of Auburn, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, Aug. 14, 2014, at Kingston Health Care Center, Fort Wayne. Born Oct. 2, 1918, in Newville, she was a daughter, Forrest F. and Jessie J. (Headley) Fusselman. She married John D. Steffen on Dec. 27, 1941, in Newville; he passed away on Sept. 3, 1949. She worked for Stanadyne Corp. in Garrett for 19 years, retiring in 1985. She was a member of First Christian Church, Disciples of Christ in Auburn where she also was a member of the women's circle. Joyce loved to travel and listen to her audio tapes, she was an avid fan of the Detroit Tigers and the Indianapolis Pacers, but most of all she loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Surviving are three daughters, Joy A. (Gary) Keefer of Maineville, Ohio, Sherry J. (Tom) Schaper of Woodburn and Jonnell D (fiancé, Daniel Wiegmann Sr.) Steffen of Huntertown; one son, Colin Bruce (Sandy) Steffen of Valparaiso; five grandchildren, Kelly Keefer, Jodi Keefer, Staci Salzbrenner, Tara Hullinger, and Jamie Bowman; and eight great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a son, Charles R. Steffen; and a grandson, Shawn Schaper. Service is 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 16, 2014, at Feller & Clark Funeral Home, 1860 Center St., Auburn, with visitation from 2 to 4 p.m. The Rev. Betty Sivis officiating.
