MARY GOLDSMITH Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 2, 2018.
MARY ANN (McCURDY) GOLDSMITH, 86, met her Savior on Saturday, March 31, 2018, at home. Born in Liberty Center, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Victor and Frances McCurdy. Mary was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and professional. She was employed as a bookkeeper for over 30 years at Harlan Cabinets before retiring. Mary enjoyed studying her Bible, reading, traveling with friends and family, and fishing in Canada. A pastor's wife for 66 years, Mary was a joyful servant who ministered to her family and community. "Her sweet spirit blessed everyone who crossed her path and her vibrant smile could light up any room. Mary's loving heart made her known as "Grandma" to many more than just her grandkids. Her family will always cherish her humble spirit, giving nature, and love for the Lord. Mary was a woman of great strength and tremendous faith and will be deeply missed." Survivors Include her husband, Reverend Wayne D. Goldsmith; son, Mark W. Goldsmith; daughter, Beth (Deb Romary) Goldsmith; seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; and her sister, Ardith Myers. She was also preceded in death by an infant son; daughter, Beverly Goldsmith Mills; and son-in-law, Michael Mills. I just learned of Mary Ann's passing and send my condolences to you, Rev. Goldsmith, Mark and Beth. Not sure if you remember me. I shared an apartment with Bev and worked with her at Parkview. Also I lived with your family briefly before we got the apartment. You are all so special and always in my heart!

My deepest sympathies to you Wayne, Beth, and the entire family. I have such fond memories dating back to the old "chemo cafe" days at Lutheran, where through Bev I was blessed to meet your wonderful family.

She was a strong and beautiful woman of faith. I'm keeping you all in prayer as you mourn her loss.

Wayne, Beth Ann, Mark and all the family.
So sorry for your loss, my prayers are with you all. I will miss Aunt Mary so much. With her beautiful smile, her kind words and her sweet hugs she will always be part of my heart. She was a lot like my Mom and I always thought of her as another mom. I remember, how she tried to make me feel part of the family when I first met her and she always told me that I was the best gift that Doug ever gave her.
We will miss you so much Aunt Mary but you will be forever in our thoughts and heart.
God truly gained an angel with you being in Heaven. One day we will meet again and I know you will give me the biggest hug there is.
Love you
Sue (Suzy, like she called me)

I had the honour and privilege to live in the home of Mary Ann and Wayne (Chief) from 1986-1987. She was a second mom to me. We enjoyed many meals together and I learned from Mary Ann's gentle and humble way with people. She was genuine, the person you saw in public was just a hint of who she was 24/7; filled with the presence of Jesus; living a vibrant faith. Mary Ann your race is done. Well done good and faithful servant. Big hugs Chief, Mark and Beth. Our eternal hope: absent from the body, present with the Lord Jesus!
