DEBORAH SUE CALHOON, 48, of Columbia City, died Friday, Sept. 4, 2009, 2:28 p.m., at Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne. Born on Sept. 29, 1960, in Columbia City, daughter of Frank R. and Jenna M. (Wolfe) Diehl, she attended Columbia City Joint High School. On July 21, 1978, she married William F. Calhoon at Zion Lutheran Church in Columbia City. A former resident of Big Lake, she and her husband William lived in Merriam, Ind. for 20 years prior to moving to Columbia City in 2006. She worked as a Supervisor at Group Dekko in Merriam for 15 years. She is survived by her husband of 31 years, William Calhoon; daughter, Candice Calhoon of Columbia City; son, William "Cory" Calhoon of Columbia City; mother, Jenna M. Williams of Fort Wayne; brother, David (Becky) Diehl of Mentone; and sister, Dianna (Howard) Patrick of Claypool, Ind. She was preceded in death by her father, Frank R. Diehl. Memorial service is 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 13, 2009, at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Pastor Tim Kumfer of Big Lake Church of God officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials in Mrs. Calhoon's memory to the Whitley County Humane Society.
