ROBERT H. WINKELJOHN, went into the arms of his Heavenly Father on Tuesday, March 16, 2010, after a courageous battle with Leukemia surrounded by his family. Born Sept. 25, 1941, in Detroit, he was the oldest son of Thomas and Dorothy Winkeljohn. Growing up in Wabash, he graduated from Purdue University and spent his adult life in Fort Wayne. He was one of the founders of Almet, Inc, New Haven, celebrating his 40th anniversary there last year. He is survived by his wife-the love of his life for over 46 years, Diane; children, Rob (Rhonda), Terry, Tony (Jennifer), Holly Brady (Mike) and Andy (Amy) of Fort Wayne, Wendy Evans (Jonathon) of Taipei, Taiwan; 18 grandchildren; sisters, Susan (Jim) Galbraith and Linda (Phil) Morris; mother-in-law, DeeDee Doehring; and brother-in-law, Denny (Carol) Doehring. He was preceded in death by his parents; and daughter-in-law, Jeanine. "His unselfishness will never be forgotten." Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Saturday, March 20, 2010, at St. Peter Catholic Church, 512 E Dewald Street, with calling one hour prior. Calling also from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at D.O. McComb & Sons Lakeside Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Avenue, with rosary service at 4:30 p.m. Burial in Catholic Cemetery.
