DONALD E. SLIGER, 81, of Decatur, passed away Friday, June 18, 2010, at his residence. Born Aug. 1, 1928, in Wells County, he was the son of the late Dwight E. and Nellie (Huss) Sliger. He married Erma L. Morrison on Feb. 11, 1960. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Decatur; and a former Sunday school teacher. He worked for Navistar in the Inspection/ Quality Control area for 34 years, retiring in 1981. Survivors are his wife, Erma L. Sliger of Decatur; son, Stephen (Elaine) Sliger of Detroit, Mich.; two daughters, Kathie Amstuz of Saginaw, Mich. and Mrs. Karen (David) Huckeba of Atlanta, Ga.; two brothers, Larry Sliger of Bluffton and Fred (Sue) Sliger of Zanesville; two sisters, Wanda Bunch of Bluffton and Mrs. Lou (Carolyn) Vangordon of Hartford City; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Alice May Bunch and Louise Robles. Funeral service is 2 p.m. Monday, June 21, 2010, at Haggard & Sefton Funeral Home. The Rev. John Follett officiating.
