I was a patient of Dr. Hatch for 14 years and knew him for 16. He was always full of joy and so caring. He was the most caring physician I have ever seen or been treated by. God bless his surviving son and family members. I will pray that God will ease the pain that will be felt by so many.

To the family of Stephen and Kim Hatch; I am a patient of Dr. Hatch. He was a remarkable person and he made me feel important. He cared about me and his many other patients in a way that I cannot describe. I will miss him dearly and he is going to be hard for me to replace. My heart is breaking for your family and for those who were given the opportunity to know such a wonderful doctor. I did not know his Kim, but she also sounds like an amazing person. Please know that I will never forget them and will keep you in our prayers. God bless you all and I will continue to pray for Austin's recovery.

The St. Vincent's community has been embracing the Hatch family in prayers and Masses.
Father Andrew lead a prayer service Tuesday, July 5th in the Church. The Blessed Sacrament was present for adoration. Many young people were in attendance.
A Mass on Tuesday, August 2nd at 8:00 a.m. is scheduled for "Liv. and Dec. members of the Hatch family".
We pray that the "Anointing of the Sick" Sacrament has been available to Austin and that he will be able to receive the Holy Eucharist soon and as often as possible.
May Austin feel great comfort and loving support from the St. Vincent's community, and may he know that he is an important part of our family here!
In Christ,
J. Kruk (a parishioner)

My dear Kim,
I saw you in the store about a year ago and we had a nice quick chat. You have always had such a way with words and your inner beauty as well as your outer beauty. I know that God has a reason for calling you home. But it comes with great sorrow for everyone left behind, You are an excellent mom and wife. So I know that you will be looking down on your children and your family and friends with your arms open wide to embrace them. Please know that I am praying for them and you and Dr Hatch. I was so glad to have gone to school with you. You are an amazing person and I will think of you often. God speed my dear.
To the family and I am so sorry for the loss of Kim and Dr. Hatch.
I hope you feel the presence of the holy spirit. Please know that all of you, especially the recovery for Austin is on our prayers.
God bless
bethany and family

Dr. Hatch became such a part of our family, he was my dr. but he became such a tower of strength, support and an ear to listen to when all seemed impossible. Our family will miss him. He was a great support when my 46 yr old brother got killed in a work related accident. He is a remarkable man.

We were so very sad to read of the loss of our Dr. Hatch.
He helped Tom with his pain when none of the other doctors before him seemed to even care, and we will miss him terribly.
What a huge loss to this community.
We can't imagine how difficult it is for this family to suffer yet another loss of their loved ones. We will be praying for Austin's full and complete recovery. He must have had special angels watching over him and now he will have 2 more.
Peace & Love,

In our lives the Lord blesses us with amazing people, ordinary people who carry our Lord’s extraordinary love. Their gift is the ability to allow the Lord’s deep abiding and everlasting love to flow through them and shine onto anyone in their presence. Steve and Kim were two of our Lord’s extraordinary people. Each day they chose to be an instrument of the Lord. We were blessed to have moments with them, and feel through them, the Lord’s everlasting love. The precious moments are now treasured memories that we all hold deep in our hearts. I will miss Steve’s kindness to our family. Who else could help keep the family in the moment when we are trying to take a family picture in NC. I will miss Kim’s pure and devoted heart. My walk on the beach at Topsail with her sharing stories of family, motherhood and purpose are precious. Praying for you.

I was employed by a catering firm when Dr.Hatch's first wife was killed. While at the Hatch house it became evident what a caring, concerned, wonderful man he was. He offered to help carry heavy pans in to his home eventhough he was grieving.
I will always remember his kindness through his own pain. He will be missed. He was more than a doctor providing for himself and his income. He cared about people. He cared to see that they were provided for in anyway they might need the help.

Dr Stephen Hatch was a very talented and caring doctor that I had the priviledge to work with in the hospital setting. He always had a smile on his face and truly cared about each of his patients. I have heard about what a wonderful woman Kim was and there is no doubt that they were a fabulous team. I pray for their children, recovery for Austin and may God keep them in his arms. Thank you for the honor of working with such a fine doctor, you will be missed Dr. Hatch!

To the Hatch family -
You are in our prayers at this most difficult time. I pray that you continue to trust God because he has everything in control. I had the pleasure to have Kim in my life and we often talked about the love of God and his goodness. I have no doubt that Kim and Stephen are resting safe in the arms of Jesus!
In our prayers,
LINDA

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

I was referred to Dr. Hatch for a chronic pain issue and found him to be such a caring, compassionate, and skilled anesthesiologist who really had a phenomenal bedside manner as he understood complex pain issues and the toll this takes on the sufferer. On behalf of one of his many patients, I would like to extend my prayers and condolences to the families of Dr. Hatch and his wife Kimberly. I know so many people are grieving for the loss of these two wonderful human beings.

Dr. and Mrs. Stephen Hatch are in heaven, where many of us hope to be one day. Praise the Lord!!! My prayers are for the family and friends they have left behind. As these two glorified our heavenly Father with their lives, I ask God to help you grieve, then look to Him who has a plan for each of our lives. I am glad to have met Kim and to experience her love walk. Ocleva
