DAVID L. BAXTER, 75, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Thursday, March 15, 2012. Born Dec. 6, 1936, in Ohio, he was the son of the late Clifford and Ellen (Smith) Baxter. He worked at Phelps Dodge for 14 years, Coverall Rental for 19 years, and BRC Rubber-Churubusco for 12 years. He served in the Navy during the Korean Conflict. He enjoyed spending his time fishing, watching movies, photography, and playing with his dogs. He was cherished and loved by all. He has left a hole in the hearts of his wife of 33 years, Lois (Fletcher) Baxter of Fort Wayne; sons, Kevin Baxter of Skokie, Ill., Mike (Sue) Baxter of Cape Coral, Fla., Mark Baxter of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Larry (Brenda) Waterson of Ormand Beach, Fla.; daughter, Linda (Mike) Waugh of Fort Wayne; brothers, Richard (Ruth) Baxter of Fort Wayne and Doug (Debbie) Baxter of Pennsylvania; sister, Elaine Eme of Fort Wayne; sister-in-law, Donna Baxter of Fort Wayne; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Ron Baxter. Funeral service is 11 a.m. Monday, March 19, 2012, at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Home for Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road, Fort Wayne, with visitation two hours prior. Burial in Prairie Grove Cemetery.
