JOHN STEINACKER Obituary

JOHN "MAYOR OF DUNFEE" STEINACKER, 64, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 16, 2012, at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne. Born in Fort Wayne, he work ed as a sales manager with Mechanics Laundry for 26 years, retiring in 1996. He was a past member of the Mizpah Shrine Horse Patrol. Surviving are his fiance, Deb Scher of Fort Wayne; mother, Mary Jane Steinacker of Fort Wayne; daughter, Paula (Robert) Ziegler of Ossian; son, Doug (Leah) Steinacker of Ossian; two grandchildren, Zach and Tori Steinacker; brother, Kent (Cindy) Steinacker of Fort Wayne; sister, Becky (Bob) Walmer of Warsaw; sister, Amy (Gary) King of Springfield, Ill. He was preceded in death by father, Edward John Steinacher II. Service is 10:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 20, 2012, at D.O. McComb & Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Road, with calling one hour prior. Calling also from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 19, 2012, at the funeral home. Burial in Covington Memorial Gardens, Fort Wayne. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, National Kidney Foundation or the A.S.P.C.A.
