CHARLES F. BAUMGARTNER, 95, passed away on Monday, Nov. 5, 2012, at The Towne House Retirement Center, Fort Wayne. Born in Hartford City, he worked as a Product Program Planner with International Harvester for 44 years, retiring in 1980. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Maumee Lodge No. 725, F.&A.M., Scottish Rite, Elks Lodge 155, American Legion Post 147, and the Mizpah Shrine. He was also a Past Patron of Eastern Star 514 O.E.S. He enjoyed golf, bowling, and spending time with his family. He also volunteered at Lutheran Hospital and Towne House Retirement Center. Surviving are his daughter, Susan Austin of Virginia; son, Frederick (Susie) Baumgartner of Indianapolis; four grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Nellie Baumgartner; first wife of 27 years, Goldie (Bruoit); second wife of 28 years, Martha (Newell); brothers, Gilbert and Kenneth Baumgartner; and sister, Janis Woodward. Service is 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 8, 2012, at The Towne House Retirement Community Chapel, 2209 St. Joe Center Road, with calling one hour prior. The Rev. Douglas Vogel officiating. Burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Fort Wayne. Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church or Baptist Homes of Indiana Foundation.
