PAUL L. "BUTCH" KENNEDY, 72, died on Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2012, at Provena Sacred Heart Home, Avilla. He served as a fireman with the Jackson Township Volunteer Fire Department, volunteered at the Waterloo Marshall's office, and also worked for 42 years as a tool & die man for the Rieke Corporation, Auburn, retiring in 2000. Butch was a cofounder of the Jackson Township Little League. Born Dec. 8, 1939, in Garrett, he was the son of Donald Dwight and Velma Ethel (Jordan) Kennedy. He married Linda L. Bailey on June 18, 1960, in the Meese Chapel United Methodist Church in rural Auburn; she survives in Auburn. Also surviving are five children, Paula Egly of Garrett, Karon Felton of Warsaw, George Kennedy and Diana Fry, both of Auburn, and Baron Kennedy of Kendallville. Service is 10 a.m. Saturday at Feller & Clark Funeral Home, Auburn, with the Rev. Stuart Kruse officiating. Visitation is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial in Woodlawn Cemetery, Auburn. Memorials may be directed to Provena Sacred Heart Home, Avilla.
