LUELLA R. OFFERLE, 95, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2013, at Saint Anne Home & Retirement Community. Born in Hessen Cassel, Luella married Robert Offerle on Sept. 9, 1939; they were married for 67 years. She was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church and their Rosary Sodality. Luella was an active volunteer at the VA Hospital for many years. "She was always wanting to help anyone she could." She enjoyed crochet, quilting, cooking and baking. Surviving are her sons, Robert (Linda) Offerle, Donald (Reina) Offerle, Paul Offerle, and John Offerle, all of Fort Wayne; three grandsons; three granddaughters; and 10 great-grandchildren with two great-grandchildren on the way. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert on Jan. 9, 2007; parents, William and Barbara Kleber; son, Stephen Offerle; brothers, Jim, Jonesey, Ralph, Tim, and Butch Kleber; sisters, Berniece, Berneda and Vera; and daughter-in-law, Kathy Offerle. Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013, at St. Jude Catholic Church, with calling one hour prior. Fr. Thomas Shoemaker officiating. Calling also from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Feb. 15, 2013, at D.O. McComb & Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Ave., with a Rosary service at 4:30 p.m. Burial in Catholic Cemetery, Fort Wayne.
