DAVID L. STIER, 79, of Fort Wayne, passed away Friday, Feb. 22, 2013 at Emeritus of Fort Wayne. He was born Dec. 8, 1933 and owned and operated Stier Electric for 50 years, retiring in 2011. He was a member of Crescent Avenue United Methodist Church. Surviving are his wife, Doris Marie; daughters, Penny Jo Hall, Julie Beth Powell, Sandy (David) White, Holly Gentry and friend, Chris Busse; sons, Blake "Pork Chop" Stier, Stuart (Tamra) Stier, Steven Stier and friend, Sheryl Wiser; many grandchildren; and great-grandchildren; sisters, Sue Brockman, Twyla Whitesel, Linda Wilson, Theresa (Mark) Lotts, Colleen (Miles) Barva, Alice Ann (Richard) Barva; brothers, Jack Stier, Mike (Dorothy) Stier; sister and brother-in-laws, including Donna Stier. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Carol Elaine Stier who died in 2000; parents, Raymond and Velma Stier; sisters, Shirley McCoy, Jance Potts, Lois Brock; brothers, Dan, Tom, Jerry and Eugene Stier; stepmother, Edna Stier. Funeral service is 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2013 at Crescent Avenue United Methodist Church, 1232 Crescent Ave., with calling one hour prior. Rev. James Evans officiating. Visitation also from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 25, 2013 at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Rd. Burial in Highland Park Cemetery. Memorials to Cancer servcies of N.E. Indiana.
