JOSEPH F. GREMAUX, 85, of Decatur, died on Wednesday, March 20, 2013, at Woodcrest Nursing Center. Born Jan. 25, 1928, in Allen County, Ind., Joe was the son of the late Julian and Eleanor (Voirol) Gremaux. On Nov. 27, 1952, he married Rosemary B. Ottenweller. Joe was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Msgr. J.J. Semeitz Council 864, where he served as Past Grand Knight. He also served as Past Faithful Navigator of the 4th Degree Assembly. He also served as State Warden and District Deputy with the K of C and Council 864 financial secretary for 26 years. He was a member of the Moose Lodge 1311, American Legion Post 43. Joe retired from International Harvester in Fort Wayne and served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a graduate of Central Catholic High School, in Fort Wayne and was a lifelong farmer. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Rosemary B. Gremaux of Decatur; six sons, Ron (Teresa) Gremaux of New Haven, Dan (Jane) Gremaux of Decatur, John (Patty) Gremaux of Cassopolis, Mich., Jim (Connie) Gremaux, Stan Gremaux and Mike (Monica) Gremaux, all of Decatur; two daughters, Judy (Steven) Knowles of Woodburn and Diane (Randy) Goettemoeller of Maria Stein, Ohio; three brothers, Walter Gremaux of Monroeville, Arnold (Charlene) Gremaux of Kendallville and Lloyd (Nancy) Gremaux of New Haven; 18 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by five sisters. Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 23, 2013, at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Churc, with visitation from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. in St. Mary's Parish Hall. Father David Voors officiating. Visitation also from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 22, 2013, at Haggard-Sefton & Hirschy Funeral Home, with reciting of the Holy Rosary at 1:30 p.m. K of C 4th Degree Honor Guard will post from 6 to 8 p.m. Burial in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, with Military graveside rites by American Legion Post 43 Color Guard.
