MARY BLANCHE "M.B." SCHMIEMAN, 83, passed away on Thursday, June 6, 2013, at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne. Born in Indianapolis, Ind., M.B. worked as a Registered Nurse with St. Joseph Hospital for 15 years, retiring in 1965. She was a charter member of Our Lady of Good Hope Catholic Church and past president of the American Legion Post 47 Auxiliary. Surviving are her daughter, Ruth (Robert) Nix of Fort Wayne; sons, Edward (Deborah) Schmieman and David Schmieman (Sue Smith), both of Fort Wayne; and daughter, Elaine (Jeffery) Diefenbacher of Fort Wayne; brother, Robert Linn of Indianapolis, Ind.; grandchildren, Jeff Nix (David Huelsmeyer), Adam Nix (Christine Gamble), Melissa Nix (Paul Hindenlang), Mike Schmieman (Megan Gore), Jason Schmieman (Sarah Haber), Allie Schmieman, Lauren Schmieman, Matthew Schmieman, Sarah Ridenour, and Samantha Diefenbacher; stepgrandchildren, Jacquelyn Diefenbacher and Mark Diefenbacher. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Schmieman; parents, Warner "Bob" and Elizabeth Linn; stepmother, Loretta Ankenbruck-Linn; sister, Elizabeth Ayers; and brother, Joseph Linn. Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Monday, June 10, 2013, at Our Lady of Good Hope Catholic Church, 7215 St. Joe Road, with calling one hour prior. Calling also from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, June 9, 2013, at D.O. McComb & Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Road, with a Rosary service at 7:30 p.m. Burial in Catholic Cemetery.
