JAMES L. LEWIS, 74, died at home on Sunday, July 21, 2013. He was born in Fort Wayne on Nov. 15, 1938 the son of the late Orin and Leila "Frankie" (Craft) Lewis. He attended North Side High School, class of 1957. He served his country for six years in the Army Reserves as a Military Policeman. He graduated from Indiana University with a Bachelor's of Science Degree. He then obtained his Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine from Illinois College of Podiatry in 1967. He was a board certified Podiatric Physician and Surgeon for 40+ years. He was president of the Indiana Podiatric Medical Association as well as a delegate of the IPMA to Washington D.C. for many years. In 1995, he earned the title of "Doctor of the Year" by his colleagues. He was a beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, Uncle, and Friend. He is survived by his wife Brenda of 34 years; son, David (Samantha) Lewis; daughters, Lisa (Doug) Zerkle and Robynn Lewis-Wearley; granddaughters, Penelope and Pyper Lewis; grandson, Cody Wearley; great grandson, Baby Wearley, to be born in October; step-grandchildren, Mallory and Justin; a step- great granddaughter, all of Fort Wayne, Ind; and his best friends Ron and Bonnie Macy of Wolcottville, Ind. At Dr. Lewis's request, there will be no calling or services. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Dr. Lewis' grandchildren, Penelope and Pyper Lewis and Baby Wearley, for their higher education in c/o Brenda Lewis in Fort Wayne at Fifth Third Bank.
