JOHN R. YENTES, 87, of Fort Wayne, died on Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2013, at Lutheran Hospital. Born March 1, 1926, in Wabash, Ind., he served in the Navy during World War II. He retired in 1989 from International Harvester after 42 years of service. He had been chairman of the Bargaining Committee with the International U.A.W. Surviving are his daughters, Barbara (Steve) McMaster, Marilyn (Wayne) George, Paula (Steve) Jacob, Donna Beauregard, and Susan Yentes; son, John (Cindy) Yentes; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchil dren; brother, Paul (Eva) Yentes; and sister, Mary (Arnold) Engle. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jo, in 2011; daughter, Margaret Ann Yentes; and son, James Michael Yentes. Funeral service is 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 10, 2013, at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road, with calling one hour prior. Calling also from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 9, 2013, at the funeral home. Burial in Catholic Cemetery. Preferred memorials to Matthew 25 or Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana.
