DENVER C. JORDAN, 59, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 11, 2013, at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne, after a brief but courageous struggle with cancer. Born in Indianapolis, Denver graduated as Valedictorian from Arsenal High School, received a Bachelor of Arts in History and a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Management in 1976 and a Masters in Business from Purdue University. Denver earned a Doctor of Jurisprudence from Indiana University 1980. Denver began his law practice in Fort Wayne in 1980 and was an Attorney and partner with Blume, Connelly, Jordan, Stucky and Lauer LLP. He was admitted to the Indiana Bar in 1980 and the Ohio Bar Association in 1996 and was also admitted to practice law before the U.S. Supreme Court; U.S.Court of Appeals, Seventh Circuit; U.S. District Court, Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana. He was a member of the Indiana Bar Association, Allen County Bar Association, Ohio Bar Association, American Trial Lawyers Association, and was a frequent contributor to the Allen County Bar Association Legal Line. He served on the Board of Directors of Chadwick Communities. Denver was a frequent speaker for credit associations, financial management associations, the Northeast Indiana Northeast Paralegal Association, the Indiana State Bar Association and local businesses and civic organizations. Denver had written and contributed to numerous publications concerning creditor's rights, bankruptcy, commercial law and Real Estate, including publications for various state and regional seminars, the Northeast Indiana Paralegal Association and the Indiana State Bar Association. His hobbies included running marathons and distance races, ballroom dancing, traveling, reading, theatre and the arts and relaxing while riding his mower across his acreage. He enjoyed IU and Purdue sports and was a member of the Purdue baseball team and later tried out with the Kansas City Royals. His true passion was spending time with his family at their vacation home in Montana. Surviving are his wife, Marsha Jordan of Huntertown; daughter, Emily Ann Jordan of Fort Wayne; brother and sisters-in-law, Dianna M. Shaffer of Portland, Ore., Robert and Mary Lung of Auburn, Robert and Carole Elder of Fort Wayne, Ken and Jeanne Reighter of Yoder, Randy and Maureen Gonser of Auburn, Richard and Anntette Leeuw of Avilla, Tracy and Michele Lemmon of Dublin, Ohio; 15 nieces and nephews; and 11 great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Denver C.R. and Emily Jordan; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Allan and Wilma Shaffer. Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 16, 2013, at Queen of Angels Catholic Church, with calling one hour prior. Fr. Chris Smith officiating. Calling also from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Aug. Aug. 15, 2013, at D.O. McComb & Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home, 1320 E. Dupont Road, Fort Wayne. Burial in Catholic Cemetery, Fort Wayne.
