WILBUR E. MEYER, 80, of Ossian, passed away Sept. 7, 2013. He was born on May 8, 1933 in Wells County a son of the late Alvin and Minnie (Nahr-wold) Meyer. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict from 1953 to 1955. He worked as a diamond die driller for Hoosier Wire & Die and Heritage Wire & Die. He also worked for K-Mart and Fallstaff Brewery. He was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church and a past president and township leader for the Wells County 4-H. He enjoyed spending his time woodworking and fishing. Surviving family include his wife of 58 years, Ilene (Fackler) Meyer; daughter, Shelley (Ted) Ambriole of Fort Wayne, Stanley (Patricia) Meyer of Ossian, Sanford (Trudi) Meyer of Wolcottville, Sheldon (Cindy) Meyer of Ossian, Sherry (Bret) Cole of Fort Wayne; 11 grandchildren; two step grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two step great-grandchildren; and sisters, Doris Graft of Florida, and Sandra Lydy of Kendallville. He was also preceded in passing by his brother, Kenneth Meyer. Funeral service is 4 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2013 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 6514 East 750 North, Ossian, with visitation one hour prior. Visitation also from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 9, 2013 and also from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2013 at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Funeral Home, 120 West Mill St., Ossian. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to Bethlehem Lutheran Church School Endowment Fund, Worship for Shut-ins, or Hospice Home.
