T. DOYLE BOWMAN, 90, a lifelong resident of rural Allen and Wells County, passed away Friday, Nov. 15, 2013 at Christian Care Retirement Community. He was born Nov. 21, 1922 in Ossian, a son of the late Odis T. and Lois P. (Kleinknight) Bowman. He worked as a plant security officer at International Harvester and later retired from Navistar. He also worked shuttling cars for National Car Rental. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of Zanesville United Brethren Church. He enjoyed spending his time hunting, trapping, fishing, gardening, and telling stories. He will be remembered for his love for his church and family. Surviving family include his daughter, Mary Ann (Robert) Bender of Zanesville; son, James D. (Connie) Bowman of Pierceton, Ind.; daughter, Carol Jean (Tom) Robison of Ossian; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was preceded in passing by his wife, Marybeth (Sink) Bowman; and three brothers. Funeral service is 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2013 at Zanesville United Brethren Church, 3092 Broadway St., Zanesville, with visitation one hour prior. Visitation also from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 17, 2013 at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Funeral Home, 120 West Mill St., Ossian. Burial will be in Hoverstock Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Zanesville United Brethren Church. Visit to leave condolences.
