EILEEN M. FREEBY, 82, of Decatur, died on Friday, Feb. 28, 2014, 1:25 a.m., at Wood-view Nursing Home, Fort Wayne, where she had been a resident for the past year. Born July 23, 1931, in Preble, Ind., she was a daughter of the late Arthur H. Bieberich and Adele I. (Graft) Bieberich. She married Daniel Robert Freeby on June 7, 1953, at Zion Lutheran Church, Decatur; he passed away on Dec. 23, 1992. Eileen was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Decatur, where she was an organist for services (60+ years) and accompanist for the choir for many years. She was also the accompanist for the Lutheran Chorale for many years. Eileen had retired from Thunderbird Products, Decatur, after 35 years of service where she worked in the accounts payable department. Surviving are her daughters, Susan (Bruce) Bernhardt of Coatesville, Ind., Laurie (Joe) Kunst of Willow Springs, Ill., Emily (Rick) Miller of Fort Wayne, and Jennifer (Mark) Bradtmueller of New Haven; daughter-in-law, Teri Freeby of Fort Wayne; brother, Loren (Barbara) Bieberich of Noblesville, Ind.; and 10 grandchildren, Tarrah (Seth) Martin, Evan Bernhardt, Jessica (Matt) Lakics, Adam Freeby, Ryan Freeby, Brinn Miller, Lucas Miller, Daniel Bradtmueller, Jacob Bradtmueller, and Nathan Bradtmueller. She was also preceded in death by one son, Kent R. Freeby on Dec. 26, 2012; and two brothers, Richard Bieberich and Donald Bieberich. Service is 11 a.m. Thursday, March 6, 2014, at Zion Lutheran Church-Decatur, with visitation one hour prior. The Rev. Philip Phifer and the Rev. Robert Becker officiating. Visitation also from 2 to 5 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 5, 2014, at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur. Burial in Decatur Cemetery.
