LAURA KLINE Obituary

LAURA "KATIE" McCOY KLINE, 90, of Fort Wayne, died on Tuesday, July 22, 2014, at Heritage Park Nursing Home. Born Aug. 21, 1923, in Bell County, Ky., she was a daughter of the late Hickory Grace and Laura Phipps Grace. She was a factory worker at Shambam for nine years and also worked at Eavey's Grocery store for many years. Surviving are her daughter, Nancy K. (Al) Barrand of Fort Wayne; sons, Charles T. McCoy of Fort Wayne and Daniel L. McCoy of Muncie, Ind.; sisters, Irene Sowder of Vancouver and Geraldine Lumpkins of Lexington, Ky.; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and daughter-in-law, Karen McCoy. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, James McCoy, in 1980; second husband, Robert Kline, in 1990; and 17 siblings. Funeral service is 11 a.m. Saturday, July 26, 2014, at C.M. Sloan & Sons Funeral Home, 1327 N. Wells St., Fort Wayne, with calling one hour prior. Jamie Barrand officiating. Calling also from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 25, 2014, at the funeral home. Graveside service is 1 p.m. Saturday, July 26, 2014, at South Whitley Cemetery. Preferred memorials to Heartland Home & Hospice. www. sloanandsonsfuneralhome.com
