Doris Batchelder

SOMERSWORTH - Doris Mary (Leblanc) (St Jean) Batchelder, (1933-2013) age, 79, of Somersworth, New Hampshire, went to be with her Lord on January 11, 2013. Doris was born in Newmarket, N.H. to Onesime and Leonida Leblanc. Doris married Henry L. St Jean and moved to Somersworth to raise their family. They were blessed to enjoy 49 years of marriage. Doris was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Donald Leblanc, her husband, Henry and her second husband, Donald Batchelder. Doris is survived by her brother Onesime Leblanc (Madeline).

Doris is also survived by her children: Darlene Webber (Michael) Berwick, Maine, Robert St Jean (Mary Ann) Tulsa, Okla., Donald St Jean (Staci) Somersworth, N.H., Renee Vary (Michael) Port St. Lucie, Fla. Doris will be missed by her 10 grandchildren: Bill Webber (Maria), Kimberly Webber, Matthew St Jean, Shawn St Jean, Jeffrey St Jean (Cora), Jennifer St Jean, Damien Vary, Heather Viccaro (Russell), Crystal Vary, Leah Vary-Kaffey. She was blessed to have 8 great grandchildren: Asia Webber, Billy Webber Jr, Austin Day, Olivia Roberts, Brianna St Jean, Russell Viccaro Jr., Zachary Viccaro, Chatham Vary-Spinosi.

A special part of her second marriage to Donald Batchelder was to enlarge her family to include 7 more members. She is survived by her step-children Bill Batchelder (Diane) of The Villages, Fla., Jimmy Batchelder (Andrea) of South Berwick, Maine, Edward Batchelder of South Berwick, Mass., Donna Curtis (Dick) of The Villages, Fla., Mary Jo Herman of S. Berwick, Jane Frankie (Mike) of Dover, Fran Batchelder of Rochester.

Doris was a communicant of Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Doris had a special place in her heart for animals and was a big supporter of the local animal shelter. Many local people enjoyed her skill as a master seamstress when she left General Linen to work from her home. Doris will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. in the Bernier Funeral Home 49 South St. Somersworth.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. at St. Ignatius Parish in Holy Trinity Church 414 High St. Somersworth.

Burial will follow in St. Charles Cemetery, Dover.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in her name to the Last Chance Animal Rescue in North Berwick or Cornerstone VNA Hospice (formerly Rochester VNA).
