DOVER - Anne Peaslee, 93, of Dover, formerly of Hampton and Plaistow, died peacefully on Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013, at Hyder Family Hospice House, Dover.
Anne was born in Kittery, Maine, Jan. 24, 1920, the youngest of six children to the late Mervin and Florence (Bowden) Ford.
She graduated from Traip Academy in 1937, the salutatorian of her class. She studied at Bates College for two years before transferring to the Mass General School of Nursing. After working at Mass General as an operating room nurse, she enlisted in the Army
in 1943 and served on the hospital ship the Louis A. Milne in the Atlantic and Pacific Theaters.
Anne enjoyed traveling, reading, knitting, Tai Chi and spending time with family and friends. She had a sharp wit, a keen sense of humor and enjoyed life to its fullest. She will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her daughters, Lynn Bonney and her husband David of Barnhart, Mo., Merril Dwyer of Nottingham and Marcia Peaslee of Wellfleet, Mass; sister-in-law Dorothy Ford of North Andover, Mass; seven grandchildren, six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents Anne was predeceased by her husband Irving Peaslee, sisters Roberta Ford, Helen Coffey, Carolyn Robinson and brothers Guile and Wilson Ford, as well as her close companion Arthur Hamilton.
Visiting hours will be from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 8, 2013, in the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, 811 Lafayette Road, Hampton.
