David W. Cote

SANFORD - David W. Cote, 59, of Sanford, died at his home on Feb. 2, 2013, after a period of declining health.

David was born in Sanford on May 11, 1953, to Wilbur and Madeline (Fontaine) Cote.

He grew up in Sanford and attended local schools.

In 1969, he married Gloria Wilmot, and together they raised two children.

David was employed for 17 years as a supervisor at the Burger King Northbound Plaza on the Maine Turnpike.

He was a music lover and enjoyed playing his guitar and going to concerts. He also enjoyed movies, cooking and watching cooking shows on television.

David was a quiet man who liked spending time at home with his family and going on day trips in the car with his wife. He was a sweet man with a heart of gold. He will be remembered as loving and devoted husband, father, son, grandfather and brother and will be dearly missed.

David was predeceased by his father, Wilbur David Cote.

Surviving are his wife, Gloria Cote, of Sanford; two children, Carolyn Cote, of Sanford, and Jeffery David Cote and his wife, Rochelle, of Alabama; his mother, Madeline Cote, of Sanford; three grandchildren, Kathleen, Emolyn and Zaralyn; and two sisters, Adrienne Osmer, of Sanford and Suzanne Goodwin and her husband, Philip, of Lebanon.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 7, at the Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home at 29 Winter Street in Sanford.
