Dorothy M. Hatch

KITTERY, Maine - Dorothy "Dot" M. Hatch, 93, formerly a lifelong resident of Kittery, Maine, died on November 17, 2012 at the Riverside Rest Home in Dover.

Born on August 7, 1919 she was a daughter of Henry and Hattie (Emery) Fuller. She graduated from RW Traip Academy with the class of 1937.

During World War II Dot worked at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard as an electrical welder and in the supply dept. She also worked for many years at FW Woolworths and J.J. Newberry's in Portsmouth.

She was a longtime member of Second Christian Church in Kittery, Maine and enjoyed being active in the church Doorkeepers. She also enjoyed membership in the Kittery Senior Citizens, Meals on Wheels and the Portsmouth Golden Age Club. Dot was an avid card player, crocheted and knit and loved to cook and share it with her friends and family and go to yard sales.

She is survived by her sons, Frederick and his wife Janice Anniskiwicz of Berlin and Craig and his wife Kathi Hatch of Kittery, Maine; grandchildren, Amy and Matthew Nash and Jeffrey Anniskiwicz; a sister, Elizabeth Lentz; a sister-in-law Marilyn Carter; and extended family Patricia and Daniel Sabedra. She was predeceased by her husband, Carroll Hatch, a son, Jeffrey Hatch and a daughter, Vickie L. Nash.

A memorial service will be celebrated on Tuesday November 27, 2012 at 2 p.m. in the JS Pelkey Funeral Home, 125 Old Post Road, Kittery, Maine 03904. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to her church Second Christian Church in Kittery.
