Dorothy Provencher

MILTON — Dorothy Eva Marie Provencher, "Dot", age 78, of Dawson Street in Milton, passed away October 2, 2012, at home, after a long battle of health issues.

Born August 5, 1934, in Winchendon, Mass., a daughter of Alfred J. Guy and Josephine E. (Cross) Guy Amenta, she resided in Milton, the past 52 years, where she raised her large family.

She had worked at Pittsfield shoe factory and also for years at the Christmas Bell Shop that was located in Milton years ago.

Dot was a longtime member of the Milton Woman's Club, American Legion Auxiliary Unit 0060, Order of the Eastern Star and the Nute Ridge Bible Chapel.

She held weekly Bible studies with a large group of her extended community family and friends for over 12 years before she became ill. She was kind hearted! She single-handedly started a food pantry out of her home in Milton for several years, before food pantries existed. She enjoyed making sure everyone had what they needed to take care of their families, she never wanted anyone to go without. She had a large heart for giving.
