'Gay' Gladys M Pilcher

ELIOT, Maine - "Gay" Gladys M Pilcher, 68 of Ambush Rock Road in Eliot died on May 28, 2013 at Wentworth Douglass Hospital in Dover.

Born and raised in Portsmouth she was the daughter of Louise (Gobbi) Parker and attended local schools including Portsmouth High School, graduating from Cony High School in Augusta, Maine.

She worked for many years in the family businesses, Bill's Automotive Service Center in Dover, and Bill's Automotive Service Station in Eliot, Maine. Most recently she enjoyed employment at Michael's Craft Store in Newington, where she was able to share her love of and talent for handiwork with her many customers. She was a talented quilter and enjoyed spending time with her quilting friends and sharing her work as gifts to many friends and family.

Gay was an avid reader and loved her flower and vegetable gardens and was the first to share a good online joke with her many friends and family. Her first love was most certainly her family, she was the best grandmother (Grammy) and cherished time with her grandchildren Sydney and Mason.

She is survived by her loving family; son Bill Pilcher Jr, daughter Melanie and husband Don Savage, grandchildren Sydney and Mason Savage. Her siblings and their families Mary Noucas Portsmouth, David Gobbi Newmarket, Jason Parker Rochester, and Stephen Parker of Jacksonville, Fla. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews and many special friends.

She was predeceased by her mother Louise Gobbi Parker and brother Robert Gobbi of Jacksonville, Fla.

A memorial gathering will be held at a later date inquiries and notes to family may be directed to ( In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her memory to Full Circle Thrift shop, Eliot, Maine. Supporting local people living with cancer. Care for the Pilcher family has been entrusted to the JS Pelkey Funeral Home.
