CAPE NEDDICK, Maine - Jack Sullivan, 63 of Triple Oaks Drive in Cape Neddick, passed away on Jan. 3, 2013, at Tufts Medical Center in Boston, Mass..

Born in Uniontown, Pa. on Sept. 6, 1949, he was a son of Dorsey and Grace (Glisan) Sullivan. Following school, Jack began a career serving his country as a member of the United States Armed Services, serving first in the Navy then for many years as a member of the Civil Engineering Squadron in the Air Force, retiring from Pease Air Force Base in 1988. He furthered his education receiving a degree in marketing from Hesser College.

He married his loving wife Linda (Morrison) Sullivan and celebrated their 40th anniversary on Veterans Day 2012. Together they lived at several duty stations including Colorado and Pease Air Force Base, settling in Cape Neddick 28 years ago. Where ever Jack made his home he always enjoyed being active in the community. He coached teams that his sons played on, was a Cub Scout leader and served his community in many other ways. As an active member of the founding committee for the State of Mane Veterans Cemetery in Springvale Maine, he was instrumental in bringing cemetery services to the state's veterans locally to York County.

Jack will always be remembered as a man who lived what he believed. His strong faith led him to serve his church, Christian Life Church in Eliot in many ways. He enjoyed working with the Seeds of Faith Ministry, making lunches for the homeless and residents of a local shelter. He helped in any way he could. He worked tirelessly at the Career Center with Veterans in Sanford, finding them work, shelter, and any other need he could help with. Jack also volunteered with Habitat for Humanity.

He enjoyed camping with his family and most recently looked forward to upcoming adventures in their Class C motor home. He loved motorcycling and golfing with his friends

He is survived by his loving wife Linda of Cape Neddick, his boys whom he adored; Brandon Sullivan and his girlfriend Nancie Koenigsberg of Jamaica Plain, Mass. and Shawn Sullivan and his girlfriend Angella Mitchell of Westbrook, Maine. His sister Laura (Sullivan) DiPanfilo and her husband Michael of Erie, Pa., three brothers Robert and his wife June Sullivan of Jefferson, Ohio, Ray and his wife Judy Sullivan of Rockford, Ill., and Ronald and his wife Shara Sullivan of Newton Falls, Ohio, and a brother-in-law Lucian Tallentire of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., several nieces, nephews, grand and great grand nieces and nephews. Jack was predeceased by his parents, and sisters Vesta Dennis and Betty Tallentire.

A memorial service will be celebrated on Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, at 10 a.m. at the Christian Life Church, 775 Harold L. Dow Highway (Route 236) in Eliot, Maine 03903.
