ROCHESTER, N.H. - Jean P. Stolt, 81, died peacefully in the presence of her family on Feb. 2, 2013.

She was born in Brandon, Vt., on Nov. 20, 1931.

She graduated from Brandon High School and received her nursing degree from Eliot Community Hospital in Keene, N.H.

Mrs. Stolt spent many years of nursing service in the maternity ward and the emergency department, and as a supervisor at Portsmouth Hospital.

She enjoyed reading, doing crossword puzzles, and playing Scrabble with her friends.

She will be remembered for her wry sense of humor.

She was predeceased by her husband, Randolph Stolt, and her granddaughter, Kelly Schwartzmiller.

Survivors include her brother, Gale Parmelee, of Brandon, Vt.; her three children, Nancy Schwartzmiller, of Sanford, Maine, Mary Anne Hadwen, of North Berwick, Maine, and Timothy Stolt, of Las Vegas Nev.; five grandchildren, Laurie, Katie, Sandy, John, and Stefan; and four great-grandchildren.

Cremation is under the care of The Cremation Society of New Hampshire, Manchester office.

No funeral services will be held. Her remains will be returned to Vermont for a private ceremony.
