DURHAM - Jerome Lipman, 83, of Bucks Hill Road, passed away on Thurs., Dec. 19, 2013, after a brave and courageous battle with cancer; at his residence with Bridget (his dog) and his beloved Judy by his side.
Jerome was born on June 26, 1930 in the Bronx, N.Y.; the son of Hyman and Rose (Messinger) Lipman.
Jerry worked for The New York Times in circulation and radio stations in Detroit, Mich., and Boston, Mass. He started working for radio station, WTSN in 1962 where he became "Broadcaster of the Year." He later became the station's Control Manager. He went on to become co-owner of the radio station, which, at that time, was known as Garrison City Broadcasting.
He was a Past President of the Dover-Durham Rotary Club
(1973-1974), past president of the Dover Chamber of Commerce. Jerry loved the beach, fishing, traveling, photography, and was an avid reader.
Jerry is survived by his life partner Judy Morrison of Durham; his grandson, Jacob Lipman; several cousins who reside in Minnesota, and his dog, Bridget.
Besides his parents he was predeceased by his first wife, Virginia Lipman in 1988 and his son James C. Lipman in 2013.

Friends and family may callfrom 10 a.m.-12 p.m. on Fri, Dec. 27, 2013 at Wiggin-Purdy-McCooey-Dion Funeral Home, 655 Central Ave., Dover, NH. Immediately following visitation, a funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. with Rabbi Sam Secoil, officiating. Interment will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery, 131 Central Ave, Dover, NH.
