IRVINE, Calif. - Joan Mary Carroll, 72, of Irvine, Calif., died Dec. 20, 2012, in Hoag Hospital in Newport Beach from complications after heart bypass surgery with her friends by her side. Joan was born Dec. 5, 1940, in Manchester, to Orajim "Jim" Euclid Lavigne and Ruby Mary (Larivee) Gilbert of Somersworth.
Joan graduated from Somersworth High School in 1958 and was a member of the National Honor Society. After High School, she married David Coletti of New York, where their son Anthony was born. The family moved to California soon after Anthony's birth. Joan had several careers from banking to insurance and eventually moved to Irvine.
She loved travel, animals, the arts, and spending time with her friends and family. She volunteered at many locations in and around Irvine - including the Humane Society, Wildlife Refuge, Second Harvest, Make-A-Wish Foundation, and a local book store.
