SOMERSWORTH - Marion A. Parks of Somersworth was born March 31, 1921 and passed away peacefully on Monday, December 31, 2012 at the age of 91.

Marion was the daughter of Fred and Maude Fink. She attended school in Medford, Massachusetts, graduating in 1939. She attended Gibbs School in Boston, Mass. until the outbreak of World War II. She enlisted in the Navy and served as a WAVE, one of the first corps of enlisted female personnel in the U.S. Navy. She met her husband, Robert J. Parks, and was married in Newport, R.I. in July 1945. She resided in Lynn and Peabody Mass. and moved to Somersworth in 1956. She was a member of the Somersworth Women's Club, owned and operated Stonehenge Gift Shop in her home for 12 years, and was employed at Porteous Mitchell for a number of years. Following her retirement she traveled extensively, and thoroughly enjoyed her family.

Marion was predeceased by her husband of 50 years in 1989, her daughter-in-law Roberta (Lapointe) Parks in 1989, and her son Richard D. Parks in 2012.

She is survived by her sons, Robert A. Parks, David E. Parks and Jeffrey L. Parks, a daughter, Carol Parks McCoy and husband David McCoy; seven granddaughters, Karen Parks and husband Brad Todd, Ellen Parks and husband Rob Scully, Lauren Parks and fiance Joe Cleveland, Sonia Parks-Pierson and husband James Pierson, Mia Parks, Mallory McCoy and Kristan McCoy; she also leaves four great grandchildren.
