SOMERSWORTH - Martin J. Carignan, 87, died Tues. Dec. 3, 2013 from injuries suffered in an accident.

Martin was born Aug. 16, 1926 the son of Alfred and Marie (Brochu) Carignan.

Martin was a Naval Veteran of World War II. He was co-owner of Lower Main Street Garage in Somersworth for a number of years. He was avid hunter and loved to manufacture his own fire arms. Competed in many black powder shooting competitions.

Martin had been employed at Davidson Rubber for many years.

Martin is survived by his wife Twila (Dagan) Carignan. 2 sons Normand and his wife Chun of Somersworth, Richard and his wife Teresa of Brookfield. 1 daughter Judy Gemas and her husband John of Milton. 4 Grandchildren Dr. Allen Carignan, Dr. Peter Carignan, Jason Carignan, and Jennifer Carignan and 7 great grandchildren.

Friends may call at the Roberge Funeral Home 298 High St. Somersworth Friday December 6 2013 from 4 to 6 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m.

At St. Ignatius, St. Martin Church Maple Street Somersworth, N.H.

Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery

Memorials may be made to Strafford County Riverside Rest Home.
