Nicholas E. Clauson, Jr.
GORHAM, Maine – Nicholas E. Clauson, Jr., 92 formerly of Dover died Saturday, March 29, 2014 at the Gorham House.
He was born November 3, 1921 in Dover, the son of Nicholas E. and Marion (Goodwin) Clauson and had lived most of his life in Dover before moving to Westbrook, Maine in 2006.
Nick was a U.S. Air force
Veteran having served during W.W. II He served in 1943, 1944 and 1945 and was part of the flying tigers in China. He was baptized overseas, during the war, in Old Agra, India.
He had worked as an electrician at Moore Business Forms and had also worked for the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard and Pease Air Force Base.
He was a former member of the Knights of Columbus.
Nick enjoyed golf, fishing and hunting.
Members of his family include his wife, Cecile "Cis" (Courteau) Clauson of Gorham, ME; two sons, Bruce Clauson and his wife, Camille of Tucson, AZ and Paul James "P.J." Clauson and his wife, Susan of Gilford, NH; one daughter, Karen Valley and her husband, Jay of Westbrook; 10 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, April 25 at 11 a.m. at the Parish of the Assumption, St. Joseph's Church. Burial will follow in St. Charles Cemetery.
The family wishes to thank the staff of SolAmor Hospice and the Gorham House for their many kindnesses and wonderful care of their dad during his illness.
