Paul "Mickey" Royer

Paul Royer

MILTON - Paul "Mickey" Royer, 63, went home to be with the Lord on Jan. 9, 2013, after a brave 11-month battle with pancreatic cancer.

"God saw you were getting tired and a cure was not to be, so He put His arms around you and whispered "come to me."

He grew up in Dover and was a graduate of St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Dover and McIntosh College and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War in the 3rd Army Calvary and served more than six years. He loved being outdoors whether puttering around the yard, hiking, fishing or camping. He enjoyed his hobbies including woodworking and furniture making, building many beautiful items for his wife Pam and family members. Paul also loved finding hidden treasurers along New England byways.

Paul was a controller for Lydall Technical Papers Co., where he has worked for more than 30 years.

Paul was a very kind and loving husband to his loving wife Pamela (Poisson) Royer of more than 22 years and is also survived by two sons, Jeffrey Royer of Somersworth and girlfriend Amy Cox, Brian Royer and wife Melissa of Sanford, three grandchildren, Kevin, Vanessa and Brittany. He also leaves his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Armand and Helen Poisson of Rochester, aunts, uncles and cousins including his special cousins Mike Printy and wife Sheila and Gail Printy.

He was predeceased his parents, Roland and Germaine (Dionne) Royer, and by his brother, Randy Royer and wife Valerie.

Paul courageously fought a very aggressive cancer with strength, patience, dignity and courage. He never gave up hope for a cure. He taught us how to love, be loved and show love. Paul will forever live on in our hearts.

Friends are invited to call Monday, Jan. 14, from 8:45 to 9:45 a.m. at the Tasker Funeral Home, 621 Central Ave., Dover, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial being celebrated 10 a.m. at the Parish of the Assumption, St. Mary Church, corner of Chestnut & Third Sts., Dover.
