Robert A. Bilodeau
DOVER - Robert A. Bilodeau, 80, a resident of Dover, for the past 42 years, died Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at the New Hampshire State Veterans Home in Tilton following a period of failing health. Bob had just recently moved to the Veterans Home. He was born in Laconia, September 23, 1932, son of Emile and Clara (Dupont) Bilodeau. Bob was a graduate of Sacred Heart Parochial School and Laconia High School, class of 1952. He went on the serve his country with the U.S. Air Force
from 1952 until 1972, retiring as a T-Sergeant. He served in Korea and Thailand and was awarded the Department of the Air Force Commendation Medal. Bob was later employed at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard from the Department of Public Works, shop X02 Transportation. He was employed there from 1973 until 1993. He was awarded the Career Service Award for over 40 years of faithful service to the U. S. Government. He had a great fondness for animals. Bob was a longtime parishioner of Parish of the Assumption, St. Joseph Church in Dover. His family includes,
His wife and companion for 62 years, Helen (Kiloczki) Bilodeau of Dover. Sons, Robert T. Bilodeau of Dover, Michael E. Bilodeau of Concord. Four grandchildren, Amy Bilodeau-Irwin, Eric Bilodeau, Andrew and Sarah Pike.
A brother, Paul Bilodeau of Belmont, a sister Simone Milliken of California. Nieces, nephews and cousins.
According to Bob's wishes calling hours will not be held. A committal service will be held on Friday May 24, 2013 at 2:30 p.m. at the New Hampshire Veterans Cemetery, 110 D. W. Highway in Boscawen, N.H. Honors and burial will follow.
Arrangements are under the care of the William F. Smart Sr. Memorial Home of Tilton. Those wishing may make memorial contributions in Bob's name to the Activity Fund, New Hampshire Veteran's Home, 139 Winter St., Tilton, N.H. 03276 or to an area SPCA of one's choice.
