FARMINGTON - Rosanna Glidden, 92, died peacefully on Jan. 5, 2013, surrounded by loved ones.
Born March 1, 1920, Rosanna lived her entire life in Farmington, N.H. In 1938, Rosanna Cardinal married her lifelong partner, Bernard Glidden, together enjoying 74 years of marriage and raising their three children. Before retiring, Rosanna was a French cord stitcher at several local shoe shops. She was a loving parent and grandparent, as well as an avid traveler and camper. During her long life, she also enjoyed creating beautiful crafts using her crocheting and knitting skills.
Rosanna is survived by her daughter, Elaine (Glidden) Cochran and her husband, Artie; her son, Malcolm Glidden and his wife, Sharon; her daughter-in-law, Barbara Glidden; six grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her husband, Bernard Glidden Sr. and her son, Bernard Glidden Jr. She was the last remaining sibling of Rosa and John Cardinal's nine children.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday, Jan. 7 from 6-8 p.m. at Peaslee Funeral Home, 24 Central St., Farmington. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 8 at 1 p.m. at the First Congregational Church of Farmington. The family requests that memorial donations, in lieu of flowers, be made in her memory to the First Congregational Church, 400 Main St., Farmington, NH 03835.
