Ruth T. "Rosebud" Chambers
STRATHAM - Ruth T. "Rosebud" Chambers, 82, of Stratham, died peacefully, Wednesday, July 17, 2013, at Oceanside Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation, Hampton.
She was born November 12, 1930, in Hanover, Mass., a daughter of the late Ralph W. and Elsie (Vanhorn) Inglis.
Ruth was raised in North Hampton and later moved around throughout the seacoast area, but currently was living at her daughter's home in Stratham for the last 10 years.
Mrs. Chambers was a dedicated homemaker who also worked for the former CBS Hytron Company of Newburyport as well as a driver for the former Annis Town Taxi of Hampton.
She was a member of the American Legion Post 67, Ladies Auxiliary of Newmarket and the Elks Lodge
# 184 in Dover.
Rosebud was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan who enjoyed Bingo, Candle Pin Bowling and playing cards. In her younger years she also enjoyed playing baseball and softball, but most of all her favorite activity was spending time with her family and friends.
Ruth was the wife of the late Clayton Chambers who died in 1984.
Family members include her sons, Percy P. Annis, Jr. of Hampton, Tom Annis of Portland, Maine, Ralph Chambers of Dover; daughters, Debbie Edwards of Hampton, Gina Critchett and her husband Bob of Stratham, Susan Chambers Smith and her husband Dave of South Berwick, Maine; brother Hal Inglis of Center Strafford; sisters, Arlene Blaisdel of Allenstown, Thelma Pretty Brown of Hampton Falls; grandchildren, David Annis, Winston Edward III, John Edwards, Amanda Monteith, Ryan Smith, Andrea Smith, Heather Annis, Mya Chambers; six great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and best friends, Dot Bishop, Paula Rypma, Lois Standen and Phyllis LaDuke.
She was predeceased by her first husband Percy Annis, Sr. and her brothers, Ralph Inglis, Jr., and Robert Inglis.
Visiting hours will be from 1 - 3 p.m. Wednesday, July 24, 2013, at the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, 811 Lafayette Road, Hampton. A memorial service will immediately follow at 3 P.M. in the funeral home. Relatives and friend are respectfully invited. Burial will be private.
