Leo Labrie Obituary

MILTON Leo Maurice Labrie, 84, passed away at Frisbie Memorial Hospital with his family at his side on Sunday, Dec. 5, 2010, after a period of failing health.

Leo was born in Sanbornville, N.H. to Ludger and Clara (Dubois) Labrie and lived most of his life in Milton. He was owner/operator of Labrie's Electrical and Carburetion Service in Milton.

He was a Color Corps Commander and Charter Member of the 4th Degree Knights of Columbus in Rochester, as well as Past Grand Knight and Past Faithful Navigator. He was a Scoutmaster for 15 years for Troop 155 in Milton. He was a past Assistant District Area Commissioner for the Boy Scouts of America. Leo was a former ski instructor and member of the ski patrol at Moose Mountain. He was formerly a member of the Parish Council at Sacred Heart Church in Milton.

Leo was predeceased by his wife, Anita Labrie, in August 2010.

He is survived by five sons, Stephen Labrie of Sanbornville, Lawrence Labrie of Milton, Joseph Labrie of South Carolina, Michael Labrie of Milton and Maurice G. Labrie of Milton; one daughter, Christine Rice of Concord; one sister, Mary Miller of Barrington; eight grandchildren, one great-grandson, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Family and friends are invited to call at the H. J. Grondin Funeral Home at 177 N. Main St., Rochester, on Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Rosary Church, 189 N. Main St., Rochester.

I had known Leo since I was very young, in fact, he was friends with my grandfather thru the Knights of Columbus and had a picture of them together in his shop.
