Leonard Duquette Obituary

ROCHESTER — Leonard A. Duquette, 53, of Mavis Ave., died Friday, Aug. 27, 2010, at the Frisbie Memorial Hospital.

Born in Stewartstown, N.H., on Sept. 19, 1957, the son of Amie and Lucille (Brooks) Duquette and was a graduate of Marshwood High School, where he had received the Good Student Award.

Lenny had a kind heart, helping people wherever he went. Everyone that knew him loved him for his kind ways. Some of his favorite pleasures in life were to sit under the big tree in his yard to relax and to sit outside on his deck to watch the rainfall. He will be deeply missed by all.

Leonard was a machinist for the Shoe Doctor shoe factory in Dover.

He is survived by his wife, Lina Duquette; a daughter, Angela Duquette of Dover; two grandchildren, Kayla Ellsworth and Destinie Duquette; a brother, Randal Duquette of Lebanon, Maine, and nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a son, Jason Duquette and his sister, Jean Vose.

Friends may call Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Tasker Funeral Home, 621 Central Ave., Dover. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Peace Church, Berwick.

to all who knew lenny, especially his family and friends, i'm saddened by his passing and at the same time flooded with some great memories of a guy who loved life and a gift of making everyone he met feel welcome.for me it was hopping in his dad's fixed up old falcon or fairlane or one of our econoline vans for a cruise maybe to york beach listening to beatles, stones, tull, floyd on eight track.the early '70's were truly awesome times.and so was hitch-hiking to maryland and touring the maine coast.R.I.P.lenny, truely a best friend of mine and i'm sure many others.

My deepest sympathies to the family of Lenny Duquette - he was a year younger than me and my twin sister in high school but he stood out as the type of kid that everyone liked. We got to know him better while working with him at the South Berwick Shoe Shop. Lenny was fun to work with. He was such a hard worker and although it was dreary and dusty at the Shoe Shop, and the days were long......his friendly personality, big handsome smile, and his stories about his family made the days fly by - he obviously adored his wife and his children. Many years have passed since I last saw him in the late 70s but I can see from the heartfelt messages from his friends and family that he had a wonderful life. Rest in Peace Lenny, you are remembered with a smile.
