I will always love you, Jonathon ❤
February 1, 2019
I am sorry to hear of the loss of life. I can remember the person I knew johnathan was. Christmas, was a time I got to meet him many years ago. He was younger and full of smiles and sweet. I thought he had a strong story of hearing of his past. I am glad I met him that day. His family's LOVE seemed so strong. I smile.
I hope that his family enjoys his memories.
I do. Even his sweet smiles. Thank you. scarlet spade

My interactions with Jonathon, although brief came while working at Bernier Insurance. He was very astute and emotionally intelligent. Personally, he gave insight that I will not forget and I know he helped all those he came in contact with. I cannot imagine the loss of a husband, father, and beautiful soul. My sincerest sympathies to his loved ones.

I had opportunity to work with Jonathon at Somersworth High School - he trained me as a RENEW facilitator. He showed me how to exhaust every resource and support to help young people; commitment, empathy and passion evident in every exchange. I am so sorry for your loss.

I love you, Jonathon Drake. I will continue to spread your light in this world. I carry you with me every moment because I am who I am because of you. I know you will use my arms, my body, my eyes to hug, to lift, to love. Always to love. Everyone on this earth deserves love. I am so deeply blessed to have been held by you, kissed by you, loved by you. We are, and will be together forever.
Our community and family and friends have been kind and loving beyond words. You should know that the pain we all feel is so great because our love for you is so great.
You have made all of us more beautiful in your image.

As his brother-in-law (the other man vying for the love and confidence of his sister), Jonathon never kept a wall up; there was never an oppositional relationship between us. Facebook allows you to list family members, and one of the categories is "brother-in-law." He had that option. Instead, Jon is listed as my "brother." This is not because, in some desperate search for approval from him, I asked to be listed as such; he listed me this way. As so many people have expressed, Jonathon was a person of inclusion. He sought to bring people closer together rather than to draw lines. One of his most admirable gifts was his ability to recognize the promise in people that those people are sometimes blind to see in themselves.
He had so much more to give to this world. One of the classic things to say is, "God needed another angel."
I cannot subscribe to that.
God has plenty of angels; the world needs more Jonathon Drakes.

Johnathon was one of the most kind-hearted people. He possessed a true passion for at-risk youth. He leaves such a heartfelt lasting impression on all of us who have knew him for years, as well as those of us who knew him for a mere moment in time. That's the kind of person Johnathon was....amazing. May all of us carry a bit of his passion for our youth as we venture forward....
