Barbara Ryan

MANCHESTER - Barbara Ryan (née Paul) passed away peacefully at her home in Manchester, on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 after a prolonged illness. She was 61.

She is survived by her mother, Jane Paul of Meadowbrook, Pa., her two sisters, Susan and Jane, her six brothers, John, Jim, Jeff, Joe, Tom and Andrew, and twenty-six nephews and nieces.

After attending Saint Anselm College, Barbara spent many years as a nurse in the Manchester area, but her first passion was her music. Her loving family will remember her indomitable spirit through many years of an impossible series of physical setbacks. She never gave in, or gave up, until the good Lord decided that she had suffered enough, and called her to his side. "She was God's gift to us, and we will be forever grateful for the too brief time she lived, and laughed, among us."

Relatives and friends are invited to a celebration of Barbara's life on Friday evening, May 3rd at 7 p.m. at The Puritan Backroom, 245 Hooksett Road, Manchester, N.H. 03104.

A subsequent private memorial service is being planned in her family's hometown of Meadowbrook, Pa. The Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium is in charge of arrangements. For more information or to view an online guest book and memorial, please go to www.phaneuf.neta
