Bettyrose Weisberg died peacefully at home on October 3, 2013. She was born July 12, 1926 to Israel and Gertrude Gordon. She grew up in Hazelton, PA., where she was captain of the cheerleading squad and proud member of Hazelton High School, class of 1944. She remained close with her school friends throughout her life. She married Laurence B. Weisberg in 1950, where they lived before moving their young family to N.J., then to Keene, in 1966. Her last fifteen years were spent living in Rochester.
Bettyrose worked for over 25 years as an employee of the Keene Clinic, (DHC). She was known for her sense of humor and the strong bonds she made with her coworkers. Bettyrose was a voracious reader, an avid knitter and crossword puzzle enthusiast. She patiently waited to attack The New York Times puzzle every Sunday. Enjoying meals with friends at Benedicts was part of her weekly routine. Family and friends brought her much joy. She would delight in the company of her grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Her legacy is that she made the lives of all she knew that much richer and full of love and laughter.
Bettyrose was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Laurence and then by her friend and companion Irving Pastor. She is survived by her children: Ann (Jeff Firestone), Martha (Jack Walsh), Jane, Daniel, David (Tracy) and Pat (Dan Poland).
