Carl Jones Jr.

EAST ROCHESTER - Carl L. Jones, Jr. passed away Wednesday January 16, 2013, peacefully at home with his wife Mary at his side following a long period of failing health.

Born in Lebanon, Maine, on August 11, 1930, he was the son of Carl L. and Beatrice (Keefe) Jones, Sr.

Carl was a graduate of Sanford Maine High School and served in the United States Navy in 1949. Following his service in the Navy, he worked as a Master Elecrtician at Simplex Wire and Cable Co. in Newington, N.H. and the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard followed by opening his own business, Jones Radio & TV service, then into property ownership and management in the surrounding area. He was very proud to be one of the founding members of the Landlord Association. He was a life member of the Rochester Elks Lodge 1393.

He is survived by his loving family and his loving wife of 54 years Mary M. (Patch) Jones of East Rochester, N.H.; his children Margie Turner and husband Ronald of Rochester, N.H.; Linda Duffy of Sanbornville, N.H.; Harold Jones and wife Grace of Springfield, Vt.; William Jones and wife Coral of Rochester, N.H.; and Carl L. Jones, III and wife LuAnn of East Rochester, N.H.; as well as several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Carl is also survived by his sister, Phyllis Wiggin of Rochester, N.H.; his brother Melvin and wife Sandra of Kennebunk Port, Maine; brother and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews neighbors and friends.

He was predeceased by his brother Roger Jones.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the many family members, friends, and Cornerstone VNA for the care and support extended to the family.

Family and friends may visit Monday January 21, 2013 from 4-5PM at the R.M. Edgerly and Son Funeral Home, 86 S. Main St. Rochester, NH.

A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home.

Burial will take place in the New Cold Spring Cemetery in the spring.
