YORK, Maine - Carla J. Cutting, 63, of Cutting's Lane in York died on December 15, 2013 at her home following a short illness.
Born in Harrington, Maine on December 15, 1950, she was a daughter of Carlton and Constance Marie (Stoddard) Frye. She was raised in Kittery attending local schools including RW Traip Academy.
She met and in 1978 married her loving husband Wayne Cutting and together they built a home and raised a family in York.
A lifelong health care worker she worked first at the Tri-County Osteopthic Hospital in Kittery as a nurse and later stayed on when it became The Homestead Nursing Care facility. She later worked at Portsmouth Hospital when it was on the hill on Junkins Ave and later moved to the Borthwick Ave campus where she transitioned into patient registration. Carla retired last year after nearly forty years of caring for patients.
Carla and her husband Wayne enjoyed time spent traveling on their motorcycle, she had great fun on trips to the Smokey Mountains, South Dakota, Pigeon Forge and many others. She loved time spent relaxing watching the river and Portsmouth Harbor aboard their boat which they had a Jerry's Marina in Eliot for many years. She enjoyed building and spending time at their camp in Harrington Maine.
Carla is survived by her husband Wayne Cutting of York, father Carlton Frye of Kittery Point, daughter, Dawn M Hernandez of Denver, Colo., Son Robert W Cutting of Dover, Brother Clifton Frye of Harrington, Maine as well as three Grandchildren.
Services for Carla will be private, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the epilepsy foundation of Maine. Care for the Cutting family has been entrusted to the JS Pelkey Funeral Home.
