ROCHESTER — Charlene N. Quirion, 69, died on May 30, 2012. She was born in Rochester, New Hampshire on April 05, 1943 to Leonard Quirion and Pauline Ferland Quirion. Shewas preceded in death by her parents and her brother, C. Arnie Quirion.

Charlene graduated from Spaulding High School in Rochester in 1961 and studied Nursing at the Lynn Hospital School of Nursing in Lynn, Mass. She practiced nursing in New York City, Connecticut, California, New Hampshire and North Carolina where she retired from Duke University Hospital in Durham N.C.

She loved her family, friends, music, travel, singing, playing her guitar and cooking.

Those remaining to cherish her memory are her sister, Lin Varney and husband Peter of Rocky Mount N.C.; her sister-in-law, Pam Quirion of Fairfax, Virginia; three nieces, Michelle Quirion of Honolulu, Hawaii, Danielle Quirion of Reston, Virginia, and Nicole Stevens and husband Chris of Arlington, Virginia; two nephews, Ira Varney and wife Hannah of Greenville, N.C. and Seth Varney of Rocky Mount, N.C.; great-nephew, Nathan Varney and great-niece, Vita Varney, both of Greenville, N.C.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, June 3, 2012 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. in the Assembly Hall of Englewood United Methodist Church, 300 Circle Drive, Rocky Mount N.C.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Charlene's name to the Englewood United Methodist Church Worship Fund, P.O. Box 7128, Rocky Mount, N.C. 27804.
