D. Nancy Casavant

SOMERSWORTH - D. Nancy Casavant, 71, of Somersworth passed away early on Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at her home surrounded by loving family, after losing her battle with cancer. Born on December 20, 1941, she was the daughter of Doris (Lydston) Griffin and Warren Griffin. Nancy grew up and went to schools in Lynn, Mass.

She moved to the Dover area during her high school years and is a graduate of Dover High. Nancy continued her education at Franklin Pierce College graduating with a Bachelor's of Science in Accounting. She worked in the accounting field all of her life beginning with R.W. Webb and continuing at several area companies and then privately until retirement. For a period, she co-owned Cocheco Real Estate Company in Dover.

Nancy was well known for her extraordinary good luck having won a brand new Mercedes-Benz, a $100,000 Home Makeover and enjoying good fortune at Foxwoods, Atlantic City and Vegas. Nancy traveled the world with friends and family often on cruise ships and honeymooned in Ireland. She was always the proud grandmother and was known for seeing the best in others.

Nancy is survived by her husband, J. Paul Casavant; devoted daughter Valerie Paige and her husband Darin Paige of Somersworth; grandchildren, Ryan Paige of Newington and Meagan Paige of Somersworth; siblings, Thomas Griffin of Gonic, Ann Chandonia of Austin, Texas, John Griffin of Lehigh Acres, Florida and Catherine Griffin of Somersworth, as well as many special, lifelong friends.

Nancy was predeceased by her parents and brother, James Griffin.
