DOVER - Daniel R. Flynn, 91, died peacefully Sunday, September 2, 2018 at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital surrounded by family. Dan was born in Dover, September 17, 1926, the son of Daniel and Alice (Grenier) Flynn and has resided here all of his lifetime, with over 60 years on Lowell Avenue.

He was a 1944 graduate of Dover High School, and was a US Navy Veteran of World War II.

He was a member and past Grand Knight of the Dover Council #807 Knights of Columbus and a member of St. Mary Church. Dan was an avid sports fan, following all Boston and University of New Hampshire sports teams. He particularly loved UNH hockey and was a season ticket holder for over 30 years.

Dan was a 38 year employee of the Dover Post Office where he was Superintendent of Postal Operations until his retirement.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Dora (Huntress) Flynn; four daughters, Donna and husband B.J. Hickman, Maureen and husband Dr. David Staples, Sharon and husband Chip Houle, all of Dover, and Jane and husband Joseph Callaghan of Bedford; along with a brother Richard Flynn and wife Jean of Dover. He also leaves nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren whom he cherished and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Dan was dedicated to his family and always supported everyone with kind words of encouragement and unconditional love.

In addition to his parents, Dan was predeceased by his sister D. Jeanne David and her husband Samuel.

SERVICES: There are no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Friday, September 7, at the Parish of the Assumption, St. Mary Church, corner of Chestnut & Third Streets, with burial to follow at St. Mary Cemetery. Arrangements are by Tasker Funeral Home.
