Edward John Flynn

BARRINGTON - Edward John Flynn, 83, of Pheasant Lane, passed away at his residence on Monday, Dec. 24, 2012.

Born May 15, 1929, in Lowell, Mass., he was the son of the late Edward J. Flynn Sr. and Marie Collins Flynn.

Edward loved to garden; and enjoyed cooking outdoors on the grill. He was very active with his church, Chapel of the Nativity, and was an avid model train collector. Ed loved teaching history and Ed had a positive influence on his students.

Edward is survived by his wife, Patricia Flynn of Barrington; three sons, Edward J. Flynn III of Manchester, Timothy M. Flynn and wife, Chris of Webster, N.Y., William J. Flynn of Colorado Springs; three daughters, Elizabeth d'Arezzo and husband, Tony of Reading, Mass., Maura A. Flynn of Rochester, and Karen F. Diamant and husband, Don of Milton; five grandchildren, Abbigail Diamant, Matthew and Kara d'Arezzo, Alexis and Ryan Flynn. Edward was also predeceased one son, Robert P. Flynn.

Visiting hours will be held Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012 at Purdy Memorial Chapel, 2 Concord Road (Route 4) Lee from 4-7 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, Dec. 28, 2012 at 10 a.m. at St Mary's Church in Rochester. To sign an online guest book visit www.purdyfuneralservice.com.
