ROCHESTER - Elaine Marie Pollard passed away gently on November 28, 2012, after a long and hard fought battle with cancer. She spent her last days surrounded by family and friends, with the daily support of Rochester VNA Hospice and the Jimmy Fund Clinic/Dana Farber Cancer Institute. Her parents, Leslie and Karen Pollard, sister Alicia Otis and brother James Pollard, will miss her energy and fighting spirit every single day. There is no way to thank each and every person or organization who contributed to Elaine's joy over the past five years, but the family extends sincere appreciation and gratitude for all the generous gifts received.

Elaine planned to attend college for fashion or photography, and one of her proudest achievements was walking across the graduation stage for the Bud Carlson Academy in 2010. Her remission didn't last, but she didn't stop wishing for a college adventure one day. With that desire in mind, a scholarship fund for graduates of the Bud Carlson Academy to continue their education will be established in Elaine's memory in partnership with the Rochester Rotary Charities.
The family will host a Celebration of Elaine's Life from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on January 19, 2013, at the Granite Steak and Grill, Rochester. In lieu of flowers, please make generous donations to: Rochester Rotary Charities to the Pollard Scholarship Fund.
